PSP Web Browser discovered in Wipeout Pure

Wipeout Pure Web Browser

Barely days after the official US PSP launch, Roto from the ps2dev.org forum has hacked Wipeout Pure’s web browser allowing it to view regular pages and search Google.

The inbuilt browser is intended for downloading updates and extra content for the game, but it’s possible to fool Wipeout into accessing a custom portal page with links to other sites (it involves DNS mapping and tweaking the PSP’s nameserver settings).

At the moment it’s uncertain as to whether the browser is embedded in the PSP firmware or Wipeout’s code.
