Valve have just announced their first Next-Gen title will be coming to the Xbox 360.

Their Press release states that the coming titles will be powered by a customised version of the Source technology that powered 2004’s Half Life 2.

“The combination of Source and the 360 provides game designers the chance to create powerful entertainment experiences,” said Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve. “Whether developing a traditional FPS, RTS, RPG or delving into new genres, the Xbox 360 is a great platform for expanding Source and our game experiences.”

So, Do Valve have more than First Person Shooters in mind for the 360? Or is this announcement aimed more to get the attention of other developers looking for Next-Gen middleware?
