Video Games Mean We’re Awful At Sport

I stumbled across an opinion piece earlier that reckons we’re less able at sport than the non-gaming types simply because we play video games.

This is of course perfectly reasonable. Spending 75% of our free time in front of our PC or favourite game console can’t be too heatlhy, when nature orginally intended us to be out hunting for food (or, indeed, mating…) rather than being sat on our arses all day staring at our brand new 32″ TFT screen…

Perhaps, though, we don’t need to be good at sport. Why do we need to waste our precious money on food to fuel our energy supplies if we can be equally rewarded playing sport with our thumbs?
