Nintendo have done more than a few things right with their DS system. One of them is making all the games "region free", allowing you to buy them from anywhere in the world.

In a recent talk with IGN, Perrin Kaplan, vice president of marketing and corporate communications in America, dropped a hint that the Wii could be following suit, saying that in the coming months "We will share a lot of ways people can play globally, regionally, without boundaries".

Perrin went on to say " Clearly, the success of Nintendo DS has offered a lot of lessons about what works in the marketplace — and we certainly intend to keep our fans satisfied."

Good news if this turns out to be true.
