Sony Computer Entertainment’s worldwide studios president Phil Harrison was recently interviewed by the British publication The Guardian. He was enthusiastic about the amount of Blu-Ray movies current available on the US market and the amount of PlayStation 3 titles in development.

"We have shown more playable games than ever before, so the signs are good," he commented, "and right now there are more than 100 Blu-ray movies available today in the US. More than 100 games are in development, and all the major third-party publishers have pledged their strategic support for the platform."

Sony has shipped over 10,000 PlayStation 3 development kits to developers, along with the final version of the hardware and the new PS3 controller. Harrison also stated there wil be operating system upgrades before the launch, and that dev studios finally have Blu-Ray burners so that they can test the game off real Blu-Ray discs.

Harrison also said that development on PS3 titles are in full swing, and he credited Sony for shipping out final hardware dev kits quickly. The PS3 will launch this November 17.
