Xbox-360-HD-DVD-250_246244g.jpgXbox news site Xboxic have on their site, a scan from a page in Consumer Electronics daily that indicated that, in the future, games on the 360 could require the, as yet unreleased, HD-DVD drive. This is a quote from the article in question:

"Microsoft hasn’t determined yet whether to do Xbox 360 games in blue-laser HD DVD, but has ruled it out for “this holiday” when it ships its HD-DVD drive for movie playback through the Xbox 360, said Dave Luehmann, gen. mgr. - Microsoft Games Studios. “Speed of loading” is Microsoft’s big concern about HD-DVD games on the Xbox 360, Luehmann said."

This comes after the original controversy with the 360 hard disk. Microsoft said that it was ok for gamers to buy the 360 Core System, which comes without a hard drive, as the hard drive would never be a requirement for games. Then early this year the box art of Football Manager 2006 appeared with a logo stating the hard drive was a requirement for the game.
