EA Picks Up Unreal Engine 3

August 22nd, 2006 by IcyStorm | General

Electronic Arts has licensed the Unreal Engine 3 for some of their future Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC titles. It is currently unknown what titles Unreal 3 will be used for, nor if Renderware, a platform EA currently often uses, will be dropped completely in favor of this platform.

"At EA, we give our development teams the tools they need to make great games," commented Paul Lee, president of EA Studios. "We license cutting edge tools like the Unreal Engine 3 and combine them with our own systems to create state-of-the-art development technology."
