Japanese publication Nintendo Dream’s recent interview with gaming legend Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed many things about the Nintendo Wii and some of Nintendo’s future plans. These includes the changing of the new Zelda’s controls and the possibility of GameCube games remade for Wii versions. Japanese publication Nintendo Dream also had an interview with gaming legend Shigeru Miyamoto that revealed much of the background behind Super Mario Galaxy and some of Nintendo’s cancelled titles.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has undergone a few significant control changes. Link’s attacks with the sword are performed with a swing of the controller instead of simply pressing the B button. The bow has also been remapped to the B button. Miyamoto has said he would prefer to play the Wii version of Twilight Princess, although both games will be fantastic.

Shigeru Miyamoto also talked about possibly upgrading currently released GameCube games to add full Wiimote support, with visual upgrades if necessary. "Even now," said Miyamoto, "[GameCube titles] are sold at used shops, so we don’t feel we could sell them for full price. However, development costs have been taken care of, so we could probably sell them at a more accessible price. If we make it so that such GC to Wii remakes can be produced quickly, it’s possible that many titles will also be released from third parties."

Information regarding Nintendo’s former 64DD projects and Super Mario Galaxy is also available in the interview, summarized by IGN.

Marvelous Interactive also confirmed the showcase of Harvest Moon Wii at the Tokyo Game Show in September. However, it is currently unknown if it will be present in a video form or playable form. If the latter is true, it will be the first opportunity for the general public to play the Wii.
