After previously stating that they weren’t interested, Nintendo have now finally secured the domain name wii.com (which now points to Nintendo.com) from the lumber company Weyerhaeuser Corporation.

Nintendo currently own somewhere between 60 to 80 Wii-related domain names, all of which point to nintendo.com.

According to the DNS records for Wii.com, The transfer took place on 14th August 2006. It is not known how much Nintendo forked out for the name, though we can safely guess it was in the millions.
