A report published in a German newspaper today suggests that Electronic Arts (EA) could be looking to aquire Crytek, developers of the upcoming Crysis first-person-shooter, into its ever expanding empire.

EA has already secured the publishing rights to Crysis, and according to Die Welt, EA’s Gerhard Florin described Crytek as a “very, very interesting candidate” for an acquisition.

If the reports turn out to be true, The aquisition would also mean that EA would hold the rights to the highly advanced CryEngine2 Game Engine.
