Resident Evil 5 And Dead Rising 2 Exclusive To PS3?

The October 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming monthly has revealed in its rumors mill that capcom has plans for the next entry of dead rising…but not for the Xbox 360.
Not much details were given, but apparently Sony may have managed to grab the rights to the sequel. Not only that, but they may have also snatched the exclusivity to Resident evil 5. Yes, you read that right.
The Resident evil Franchise may now be, once again exclusive to only one platform. We’ll know more when Capcom or Sony makes announcements, but come one, we Xbox 360 owners don’t want to be left out!

XBOX 360 has the exclusive for dead rising, so they better make it at least ON 360, i mean, if it went from “ONLY ON XBOX 360″ to “ONLY ON PS3, AND OTHER THINGS YOU CAN’T AFFORD!”

If somehow it turns out that this rumor is true, all I can say is WTF?! Dead Rising became a success without anything to do with the PS3.
So how you repay the people that bought, played, and enjoyed the game on the XBOX360? By releasing the sequel on the PS3!! Wow that’s a great move! If these people expect me to pay 600$ on a new system, just to play the sequel, they might as well say they love me, cuz I feel like I’m being screwed!
I just hope that somehow, the rumors, are just what they are… rumors! Because if this is true, I’ll spend the 600$ it costs to purchase a PS3, on Dead Rising 2 games, put em in a pile, set em on fire, then crap on em.
Anyway since we’re talking about Capcom, a company who milks there games for all their worth, by bleeding our wallets dry on sequels. I doubt they would pass up the chance of cashing in, by not releasing Resident Evil 5 for both systems.

Res evil 4 is for me one of the best games ever on the ps2, together with God of War.

Dead rising 2 will be coming to the ps3 and maybe the xbox 360 this is all you need to no. The only thing that you can do is say that the ps3 is good and so is the xbox 360 and that the nintendo wii is ok too.

Being the only person here probably who has almost completely finished Dead risings achievements i love playing this game, so much infact ive gone through 3 copies of the game through hardcore playing, ive slaughtered over 65′000 zombies in one play, rescued all survivors twice and did the true ending everytime i played, even on my first run…
IF PS3 get Dead Rising 2 i will be pissed.. whatever happened to keeping loyal gamers happy?

If Microsoft have any sense whatsoever they wouldn’t give up a game which had such phenominal success when it was released, it would be like handing the rights to Halo over to sony. If dead rising one did so well, then surely the sequel would do just as well if not better, considering it SHOULD have major improvements (halo 2 *cough*). There is absolutely no way DR2 should go to the PS3, as for Resi Evil, that would probably be on PS3 because it began on the PS1 (i think it was on sega something before that), why would Sony not want to have such a class game. I would love to have a PS3 but the cost is far too high, im not denying its probably a great console altho us fuckers in europe dont have it yet! >=(

But, business is business. Though I honestly doubt that Capcom is going to develop DR2 for the PS3 alone. I’m sure someone offered them a huge check to develop Street Fighter only on one system or another, but that’s been available on everything except newer systems…
Forums like this and others usually help developers in making decisions about availability, so it’s not like we’re being ignored or anything.
And yeah, the PS3 is incredibly expensive - it’s nothing i’d dig deep for…or even think about buying. Especially with all the crashing it’s done when I’ve tried to play it at EB and Gamestop. It looks beautiful sure, but so does my shiny 360.
I would like to see a sequel to Dead Rising, mainly because of the problems the original had. I would also like to see the setting change to maybe the town of Willamette. Seeing how many load times there are between stores, while not very long, could result in about the same structure the Mall had. Towns have individual clothing, food, and supply stores just like malls. I know it isn’t as simple as saying “Add a blue sky and more trees,” but that is really what it all comes down to. To comment on the PS3 rumor, I would not like to see that happen, but it has happened to at least one 360 exculsive: Full Auto, but supposedly, that franchise is going to be released on all systems (360, PS3, Wii, and even PSP). Capcom, if you want to make a game for PS3, try not to loose most of your original Dead Rising fans in the process…

I own an Xbox 360 and I am loving it, but I am damn well sure that some people who spend $500-$600 on a PS3 will love their system just as much as I love mine. People who spend $250 on a Wii are more than likely to enjoy their consoles more than any of us that can afford just a 360 or PS3. All of these systems are going to have great games in their library and from what I hear from game developers (not personaly, mind you), each system will have a good amount of support. An issue of Game Informer Magazine (don’t know which month, but it had the new Def Jam game on the cover) said that Resident Evil 5 would be coming to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Of course, this was displayed before Capcom asked the gaming press to take down the video that revealed the game from their websites.
You guys remeber what Capcom did with Dino Crisis 3 right? I know you guys wont really bother with this as it went to Playstation to Xbox, and it might not count because there was never a Dino Crisis on the PS2, so what’s to stop Capcom doing something like that again? I agree to some extent, but when we look back at Capcom today, we see a company that was focused on pushing more and more titles out the window (countless Resident Evil side-stories and spin-offs, releasing a lot of Anthology collections for games like Street Fighter, and most of all: Megaman games.)
Today, however, with a new generation of home consoles, Capcom is certainly on track with delivering quality games (Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Resident Evil 4 and Okami, along with others). I am sure they are planning these games carefully and with a lot of consideration for their current fanbase.

You are referring to an old rumor that started WAY back at TGS 05, when Hideo Kojima first revealed Metal Gear Sold 4. He spoke to Game Informer who used the game as a cover story. He proceeded with the interview by saying, “This demo could run on Xbox 360″. Most people thought he was simply saying that the graphics would be much better with Playstation 3. Others thought he was saying that MGS 4 was/could come to 360.
My point: It is a possibility that the game developers have thought about.
