Ubisoft Reveals Wii Wheel; Announces Splinter Cell 4

Wii Wheel and Double Agent

Ubisoft has revealed their Wii Wheel accessory to IGN Wii. The wheel is developed by Thrustmaster and will be shipped with GT Pro Series. The accessory, however, is reported to be able to work with all racing games currently to be on the Wii. The Wiimote fits in the center of the wheel, and all the user must do is turn the wheel (pressing the buttons will depend on the game).

In another announcement, Ubisoft also announced another launch title for the Nintendo Wii. Splinter Cell: Double Agent will be released alongside Red Steel and Ubisoft’s other Wii launch titles. The game will be based off of the Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube version.

“We are very excited to bring Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent to the Wii this holiday season,” said Tony Key, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. “The Splinter Cell franchise has always translated very well across multiple platforms and we are confident that the Wii version will continue the tradition of maximizing the capabilities of each respective video game console platform.”

Online capabilities aren’t planned, but whether Double Agent will use WiiConnect24 is questionable.

I had a wheel like this on my Amiga about 15 years ago. What a rubbish idea.
