Japan & U.S. Wii Launch Details Announced

Nintendo announced today that the Wii will launch in Japan on December 2nd, priced at 25,000 Yen (around $215).

The Wii will be launching in the U.S. almost two weeks earlier, on November 19th, and will retail at $249.99. The U.S. version comes bundled with Wii sports.

The Wii will launch in only one color in all regions: White. Games will cost around $49.99. The Wiimote is priced at $39.99, Nun Chuck will be $19.99. Nintendo expects to make 6 million units this fiscal year (ends March 2007), the bulk of which will be heading for the U.S.

  • Wii Sports
  • Wing Island
