MySpace for World of Warcraft?

Napster founder Shawn Fanning has announced plans for Rupture, a social networking site aimed at players of MMORPGs. He intends to start with the biggest, World of Warcraft, and is currently seeking “qualified World of Warcraft guilds to participate in our closed beta.”

Apparently Rupture will either work as an in-game add-on, or perhaps another executable (though don’t Blizzard have rules against other executables interacting with WOW?), and will automatically suck data out of the game world and put it on your personal site. Facilities available to members should include some kind of in-game instant messaging capability.
