Gears Of War Shifts 2 Million Copies

Less than six weeks after Gears of War hit the shelves, Microsoft have announced that Epic’s sci-fi shooter has become the fastest selling next-gen game so far, selling more than 2 million copies worldwide – 1 million of those in the US alone.

Since the game went on sale on November 7th, the daily rate of Xbox Live Gold subscriptions has risen more than 50%.

Michael Capps, president of Epic Games, said his development team are “stoked” at the news and reassured fans of the companys continuing support for the title by offering free downloadable content.
