Sony Copies Nintendo With Full Motion-Sensitive Controller

Sony has applied for a patent in the US for a motion-sensitive controller device, presumably intended for the Playstation 3, which appears to ape most of the features of Nintendo’s Wii remote.

Nintendo to Replace all Wii Straps!

The BBC is reporting that Nintendo is issuing a recall order on all the Wii consoles which have been shipped worldwide. The company plans to replace the straps on the Wii game controllers after reports that some were breaking, or coming loose, and causing accidents.

Lost Eden Released

The Lost Eden expansion for sci-fi MMORPG Anarchy Online has been released. Funcom, the creators of the game, have indicated that they wanted to beef up the PvP experience in this expansion, as well as offer greater opportunities for players to confront the alien invasion forces.

Create your own Xbox 360 Games!

Microsoft has made version 1.0 of its XNA Developer Kit available, enabling anyone to now create games for the Xbox 360. Based on the .NET framework, and the C# programming language, the dev kit is PC-only at the moment, and can be used to cross-develop games for both the PC and Xbox 360 platforms.

Spike TV Video Game Awards Winners Announced; WOW Burning Crusade Footage Ninja’d

Bethesda Softworks’ sword-and-sorcery themed adventure Oblivion :Elder Scrolls IV took home the honours at the Spike TV Videogame awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. The game won five awards in total, including Game of the Year, Best RPG, and Most Addictive.
